THE MUTANT MERMAID 1993

For the duration of the performance (6 hours), I laid on the banks of the river dressed as a mutant mermaid: fake fur body, latex tail, red hair with a shell crown and three breasts. Next to me there were small fur fish that meowed, the fruit of genetic mutations like me.

This version of the performance was done on the banks of the river Saale near Werkleitz in Germany for the event Cluster Images.

The original version was made in Rome by the TIber (Giochi nell’acqua), other indoor versions were made in Basel (Performance Index) and in Polignano a Mare (Museo Pino Pascali).
